Jedem ja ražane, ovsene, ječmene i druge pahuljice sa medom za doručak, i znam da je to dobar izbor, ali srce mi zaigra kada prekršim stroga pravila, brk omrsim i započnem dan ovakvim stvarima. Neke stvari nikada ne izlaze iz mode!
POPARA ZA JEDNU OSOBU
150-200ml vode
malo soli
1 kašika domaće svinjske masti, ulja, putera ili margarina
70-100g grupnije izlomljenog suvog hleba
3 kašike starog punomasnog belog sira ili kajmaka
U manjoj šerpici staviti vodu, mast i so, pa ostaviti da poključa. Dodati hleb i mešati oko 5-10 sekundi dok hleb ne popije tečnost. Ukoliko vam treba još tečnosti slobodno dolijti još vrele vode, ali voditi računa da popara nije vodena. Skloniti sa ringle i dodati krupnije parčiće mrvljenog sira. Služiti dok je vrelo. Najbolje je koristiti suvi hleb koji je sušen na vazduhu i to uglavnom koricu koju ste polomili na krupnije komade.
POPARA FOR ONE
100-150ml of water
pinch of salt
1 tablespoon of lard, butter, oil or margarine
70-100g of air dried bread
3 tablespoons of crumbled feta or Serbian kajmak
In a small pot bring the water, salt and lard to a boil. Drop the bread and stir for 5-10 seconds until the bread absorbs the liquid. If there is too much liquid add some more bread. The bread should not be too soggy. Preferably use bread crust that you have broken up into larger pieces. Take the pot of the stove and add large chunks of feta or kajmak. Serve immediately.

Dip the bread slices in the lightly beaten eggs that you have salted. You can add a bit of milk to the eggs. Fry in a pan in hot lard or oil. Serve warm with butter, sour cream, feta, margarine, jam....
